The Cottage
Lancaster Cottage is a beautifully restored 300-year-old stone cottage, full of character with a modern-rustic feel. Original features sit alongside carefully chosen interiors, creating a space that feels both timeless and comfortable.
This is a holiday cottage in the Peak District designed for couples — intimate, peaceful and perfectly suited to a slower pace of life.
The Living Space
At the heart of the cottage is a cosy open-plan living area, complete with a gas-fired log burner — the perfect place to unwind after a day exploring the Peak District. Complete with large, super-comfy sofa, a cosy reading chair, and a dining table for two.
Soft lighting, comfortable seating and thoughtful touches create a space where you can truly switch off, whether you’re reading, chatting or simply enjoying the quiet.
The Kitchen
The kitchen is fully equipped for easy, relaxed cooking — whether you’re preparing a simple breakfast or a 3-course evening meal. We like to think we have thought of everything – the knives are sharp, there’s plenty of utensils, good quality pans and even a blender.
The Bedroom
Upstairs, the bedroom is calm, light-filled and restful — designed with comfort in mind. The bed linen is 100% cotton , there’s a choice of pillows, the towels are large and fluffy and there are black out curtains.
A king-sized very comfortable bed and a peaceful atmosphere make it easy to drift into a deep, uninterrupted sleep.
In the morning, gentle light and the fabulous views of the surrounding area set the tone for a great day.
The Garden
Enjoy the best of both worlds with a seating area just outside the cottage and a tranquil, secret garden. The front of the cottage is car-free, offering a peaceful place to sip your morning coffee and enjoy the view, while the secluded, private rear garden is a true hidden gem.
Take a walk along the secret path to discover the log cabin, complete with day bed and beautiful views of the Peak District countryside – the perfect spot to relax with a book, nap, or simply watch the birds and bees at play.
As evening falls, enjoy clear, star-filled skies thanks to low light pollution. Light the firepit, wrap up in blankets, and indulge in an unforgettable night under the stars.
